My private tutoring experience began in 1977 while being a freshman in college. Differentiated instruction is given to the student based on his/her needs. I never believe in rote memorization, and instead always focus on concept development and critical thinking skill. Besides private tutoring, I was teaching Mandarin at the Institute of Modern Languages at University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia, for two years. I had also taught Mandarin at South Pasadena High School in a part-time capacity before I became a classroom teacher at an elementary school in Los Angeles in September, 2005. This is my third year teaching 6th grade class after teaching 2nd grade for three years. Majority of my 6th grade students became high achievers at the end of the school year, which I am most proud of.
