Are you a beginning photographer, or more advanced and looking to improve your skills?

I'm a working professional--and no, not of the student portrait or Sears Roebuck variety. I've worked for Fortune 500 companies, shot celebrities and traveled to remote areas of the world to work in some of the most adverse conditions. I have over 18 years of experience in the field, including some work in motion as a Director of Photography.

I can walk you through the entire process, from concept to realized images, to outputting them or even creating your own website. If you want to learn the basics of professional lighting, or even how to light groups shots in location, I can share what I know with you--hands on.

And of course I know how to use all the tools of the working professional--Photoshop, Lightroom, Aperture, Capture One, etc.

Most importantly, I'm about the most patient and easy going a guy as you could meet.

I've been using Adobe Photoshop since version 6, and Lightroom since version 1. I use both programs extensively in my own work, so I have more than just and academic understanding of the programs. You'd be hard pressed to find anything in these programs that I haven't worked with.

Photography

I've worked in the photography industry for more than 16 years. I've worked as a still photographer, as a director of photography on documentary and short form projects. I have experience in traditional film processing and printing techniques, as well as cutting edge digital printing and asset management technologies.

I can educate you on using your camera, film, strobe or constant source lighting, location or studio production--or just basic techniques for creating strong images.

Macintosh

I'm an expert Mac user, and use this platform in all of my professional work. I can instruct you in the basics of navigation and file management, or can help you set up your own server for creating a testing environment for building websites or running other server based applications.

How do I receive a discount?

Save between 5 and 15% on tutoring by purchasing credit with one of our prepaid discount packages. You can buy one of our standard 5, 10 or 15% packages or customize your own package based on how much tutoring you need. The credit you purchase can be used towards any tutor at any time and does not expire. If you do not use the entire package, we will simply deduct what you did spend on tutoring from your original purchase price and give you a refund. Discount packages start as low as $190.
