Louis Pasteur said, "Chance favors the prepared mind." It is amazing to me how totally underrated basic speech skills and communications skills are for survival today in almost any environment. Public speaking and listening skills are a significant weak spot for many young and seasoned professionals, small companies and students trying to ultimately get a competitive edge in the work place. Yet most often... it is this skill that can make an appreciable difference.
To me, there is a direct correlation between quality presentation skills, and success in the professional world and in life. I have worked extensively with hundreds of individuals and small groups that were very bright but stressed out because they did not have time, very little background or were simple rusty and needed someone to listen to them...so their chances improve significantly. I am not a reading instructor. I work with speaking skills often using poetry, prose or dramatic readings to improve speaking and eye contact with your audience.
Many of my students have had great success in a variety of careers including business, radio, TV, and theatre. I have taught speech communication to students making a successful living doing the same.
One-on-one coaching: working with an individual, small group or small business can significantly improve basic speech skills, confidence in the classroom, with sales & marketing presentations, important meeting presentations and critical public appearances.
Most of the private speech companies are very expensive, inflexible with their time and offerings. My goal for you or your group is to have fun, vastly improve basic presentation skills and learn to learn again and again. We only have one chance to make a first good impression.
