Patient and experienced, I love to tutor students of all ages. I possess a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and have 10 years engineering experience in the Aerospace Industry. I have taught Math and Science at a private school in the Palos Verdes area and substituted all other K-8 subjects. My tutoring experience includes 10 years working privately as well as learning academies tutoring ages 4 through 17 in all subjects. I have experience with special needs and ESL students.

I love to make learning fun. Depending upon the age and the requests of the parents, I sometimes incorporate games into my curriculum to stimulate and reinforce their learning. It is exciting to see students who struggle with Mathematics suddenly have that "Ah ha" moment and go from disliking to actually enjoying math!

I am an active SCUBA diver, love to travel, love the beach, animals and children.

Thank you for taking the time to read about me. Now I'd like to hear about you!

Mathematically yours,

Algebra 1

Algebra is the gateway from arithmetic to Mathematics and, therefore, can be daunting to a lot of students. With simple everyday life examples and asking questions, rather than just "telling" how to do it, problems can be easily mastered. Sometimes my students catch my enthusiasm and actually discover for themselves that Algebra can be both useful and FUN!

Algebra 2

Algebra II is the gateway to Pre-calculus. It starts with exponents, then logarithms, then hyperbolas, parabolas, and limits. It is quite useful for most careers but it is one of the most difficult subjects for students. If they have any learning gaps from previous years, they will show up here.
I love to teach math and would love to teach your student. Most of my students earn A's, even the ones that struggle given the time.
Math can be fun, let me prove it.

Elementary (K-6th)

I possess a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and I have taught Math and Science in private schools in the Palos Verdes area. I have years of experience helping children from preschool through 6th grade successfully complete their homework, projects, and test successfully while having fun at the same time.

Elementary Math

As a professional possessing a degree in Math with many years of experience, I have worked with children of all ages. I love to watch students eyes light up when they understand a new or difficult concept for the first time. With young children sometimes I utilize games to help with mathematical skills and this also rewards their hard work. Math can be fun, you just need the right teacher.

Since I have taught preschool and worked in several local learning academies with elementary school children of all spectra, I feel quite capable helping children learn to read. I love to see their faces light up when the are able to understand what is on paper, now in words out of their mouths! I have a lot of fun curriculum that I use to help reinforce what they have learned.

Pre-algebra is the transition between arithmetic and mathematics. It is an important link in the mathematical ladder from Junior High School to High School.

The Algebras are one of my favorite subjects to teach.

I like to use phonics, photos, and actions to help students who are struggling with spelling. A basic understanding of phonics is important even in older school children as are the spelling rules that must me memorized. I use fun curriculum to facilitate this process.

I have many years of experience tutoring children in the area of writing. I have worked in local private schools as well as tutorial centers in the area performing this task. I enjoy working with children and am certain I can make a difference in their learning.
