I received my Bachelor's degree in History from Cal Poly Pomona in 1989. I also have two Master's degrees in History, the first from Cal State Los Angeles, and the second which was obtained from the University of California, Santa Cruz, as part of my doctoral studies. My specialty is American History and Modern European History, and I have a strong background in American Religions and Gender History.
I have taught numerous history courses at the university level, in addition to tutoring small groups of students during my time at Cal State Los Angeles. This experience has provided me with a fine understanding both of what is expected of High School students, and to best prepare them for the challenges that will face them.
I have a deep love of history, and a desire to help others understand and appreciate the importance that a solid understanding of history can provide for living in the present. As someone who once struggled with academics in High School, I look to encourage my students and provide them with confidence in their own abilities to succeed.
