In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Dyslexia

I was trained by Dr. Peter Murphy and Daniel Franklin who are two of the leading learning specialists in Los Angeles. My tutoring practice consists of students with many dyslexic students in elementary, middle, and high school. I also tutor and teach for Bridges Academy and Westmark School, which are both private institutions for students with learning differences and Dyslexia. I have worked At Westmark School for the past four years, where I have tutored and taught students of all ages from K-12. I use the Rewards reading program and a variety of other techniques that help the students overcome their processing issues. I also work with closely with the International Dyslexia Association and their president, Laine Donnell.

Film

As a filmmaker I wrote, directed, and produced four short films that played at festivals worldwide and won several awards. My short film Dystopia was Oscar eligible and received international distribution through Shorts International/ Shorts HD. I played at Hollyshorts, Hollywood Shorts, San Diego Film Festival, Santa Cruz Film Festival (Winner Best Actor), The Hollywood Film Festival, Orlando, Tacoma, Central Florida, and many others. I taught Shakespeare on Film, a multidisciplinary approach to Shakespeare and film at Windward School, a private school in West Los Angeles. I have also studied with Joan Scheckel, participating in her master class and was invited to participate in her filmmaking lab, where I worked with Robin Swicord, Nick Kazan, Cindy Chupack, Dorian Frankle, and many others.

Public Speaking

I have been an actor most of my life. I have also taught acting to students of all ages, ranging from Elementary School Students to Adults. I taught Performing Shakespeare masterclasses throughout the United States while I was on tour with the National Shakespeare Company. I also taught a class at Windward school in Shakespearean performance. I help students with public speaking during tutoring sessions and have been doing this for 5 years. I have acted in over 50 productions in New York, Los Angeles, London, and across the country. I also trained at The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and at Oxford University.

Special Needs

I was trained by Dr. Peter M. and Daniel F. who are two of the leading learning specialists in Los Angeles. My tutoring practice consists of students with learning disabilities and that is my preferred niche. I also tutor and teach for Bridges Academy and Westmark School, which are both private institutions for students with learning differences and Dyslexia. I have tutored kids with Autism, Dyslexia, OCD, Aspergers, ADD, ADHD, Fragile X, and many others. Throughout my 5 year practice, I have tutored and taught plethora of students with Dyslexia. Having Dyslexia myself, and having overcome it through wonderful teachers and self discipline, I believe I am an ideal candidate to work with students with Special Needs.

Theatre

I received my B.A. in theater from Sarah Lawrence College in New York. I also studied at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and the British Academy of Drama at Oxford University. I have studied with some of the most world renowned acting teachers in the world: Larry Moss, Wynn Handman, Harold Guskin, Catlin Adams, and Joan Scheckel. I have extensive theater credits in Off Broadway, New York, Regional and Los Angeles. I have taught acting workshops all over the country through being a member of the National Shakespeare Company where I performed The Tempest and As You Like It.
