Hello! I am currently running a small, organic farm with my wife just south of Sebastopol.
I graduated summa cum laude from Illinois State University in 2006 with a degree in Biological Sciences. That degree led me to work as a naturalist (park ranger) with the National Park Service in both Alaska and Washington State. After that time, I decided to go into teaching. I received my Masters in Teaching and teaching credential from Western Washington University in July of 2011. During this past year, I taught Integrated Science at Redwood High School in Larkspur, CA. My expertise is in the biological sciences, but I have experience teaching chemistry, physics, geology, astronomy, and math.
I have tutored students in subjects including general chemistry, organic chemistry, algebra, geometry, GRE math, and AP biology. Are you having trouble with your chemistry classes at SRJC? I have helped plenty of people in gen chem, organic, and the pre-nursing chemistry classes. Do you have a high school student who is having trouble with their algebra or geometry? I'd be happy to help!
Throughout my teaching experiences, I have focused on building strong, positive relationships with students in order to bridge gaps and help them reach their goals. I have high expectations for each student, and have found that students consistently meet or exceed these expectations. I believe that, given the proper support, every student can succeed. I look forward to working with you!
