I have been a teacher for twenty years. Before I became a teacher I was a computer programmer (systems analyst). I graduated from UCLA with a B.A. in Economics. After my children were born I went back to school to become a Waldorf teacher. My family moved to England where I was lucky to go to teacher training and do my practice teaching in Europe.

I tutor most all subjects including math, test preparation and reading. I currently tutor students of all ages, from 2nd grade to college age and sometimes adults. My favorite subject is math. My favorite book is "To Kill a Mockingbird". I love to help students of all ages improve their reading skills and use the program "Read Naturally".

I believe the reason my students are so successful because I don't just help you with the subject; I organize you physically with your materials, I teach you the vocabulary of the subject and I help you find your unique learning style. Once you know your unique learning style you can begin to study your subjects in a way that will maximize your time.

I usually tutor students in my home, but depending on the needs of the student and their family, I will travel to the student's school or home.

ACT Math

I love the SAT especially the Math section. Most people don't know that the SAT is a reasoning test. It doesn't test our knowledge of Math but our problem solving ability. If you approach the test this way you will notice many of the problems can be solved without knowing any advanced math at all. I will show you how to put your advanced reasoning skills and logic to work for you on the math section of the SAT.

I have taught students in all grades from K-12th. Because I teach math in high school I know what I want my students to know in elementary school.

How do I receive a discount?

Save between 5 and 15% on tutoring by purchasing credit with one of our prepaid discount packages. You can buy one of our standard 5, 10 or 15% packages or customize your own package based on how much tutoring you need. The credit you purchase can be used towards any tutor at any time and does not expire. If you do not use the entire package, we will simply deduct what you did spend on tutoring from your original purchase price and give you a refund. Discount packages start as low as $190.
