As a Creative Marketing Director for the past 20 years, I have used Illustrator and instructed my graphic designers in the software. I prefer to design on a PC because I’m faster on that platform, but can work my way around a Mac.
Many people underestimate the power of Illustrator to create powerful logos, signage, advertisements, postcards, brochures, etc. I have always called myself the Illustrator Queen for it is my design software of choice. I can teach from beginner to intermediate users how to improve their skills and create effective designs.
InDesign was created so that graphic designers no longer had to take elements from Illustrator and place them into a Quark document. After using Illustrator and Quark for years, I was very happy when InDesign was released as part of Adobe’s Creative Suite. With experience creating projects in Quark and designing images in Illustrator, it was simple to pick-up the tools available in InDesign.
I have designed many projects for my clients using Adobe’s Creative Suite software and can teach anyone the basics he/she would need to know.
As a Creative Marketing Director for the past 20 years, I have used Photoshop and instructed my graphic designers in the software. I prefer to design on a PC because I’m faster on that platform, but can work my way around a Mac.
Many people need some type of software to manipulate photos, and if they wish to take on the designer-level Photoshop, I can teach them the basics.
I have experienced both the entrepreneurial and corporate business worlds. As a business owner, I aided many start-ups and as a corporate executive, I restructured companies to improve their sales and brand recognition. In the past 20 years, I have helped small business owners and large organizations such as ESPN2, Rio Hotel in Las Vegas, Warner Bros., Capitol Records, World Gym, 3M, Bidz.com, Mass Mutual, and The Texas Conference of Urban Counties.
My knowledge covers all aspects of a business: operational, account management, and personnel. I have been responsible for creating budgets, marketing/publicity, accounting, personnel hiring/training, production schedules, and hardware/software purchases.
As a leadership/business speaker, Team Learning is one of my most successful programs.
After directing a Marketing & Design Agency for 15 years, I decided to close the agency and freelance. I currently consult on a part time basis for clients in a wide variety of industries, but predominantly in the entertainment and technology sectors. Most clients need help with e-marketing campaigns, sales tools, website design, and trade show preparation.
The rest of my time is spent speaking at leadership/business conferences and completely my graduate degree in Education. I have created workshops on Business Communications, Consumer Behavior, and Successful Marketing & Sales Strategies.
Since 2000, I have been speaking and teaching others how to speak in front of audiences. Internationally, I have worked with shy teenagers to brilliant corporate executives. What they have in common is that no matter how old you are, or how brilliant, we all need to learn the tips and tricks to confidently engage an audience. Without audience engagement, an oral presentation cannot be successful.
My background in entertainment and marketing support my theories on public speaking and for the past 3 years, I have been teaching educators how to improve their public speaking skills.
I have been using Quickbooks for over 20 years in my own business and have taught many entrepreneurial colleagues how to set-up and use the software program. My father was a CPA and introduced me to the program so that my business could easily track expenditures and prepare for tax season by running simple reports.
Most people are comfortable using the software once someone has taken the time to help them set-up company info and walk them through the process of adding in their customers, products and/or services. Then, creating invoices and posting payments is less daunting.
As an award-winning author and book publisher, I have a high-level of experience in reading content, editing, and the process of how to become a better writer.
Reading comprehension is about learning how to understand/explain the content in your words—what resonates with you as an individual.
