My name is Kevin and I really enjoy working with students. I am a fully credentialed teacher and have been substitute teaching K-12 for about two years. Last year, I had a long-term substitute teaching job as an Impact Teacher at a school in the Santee School District. This entailed teaching seventh grade science and social studies as well as doing small-group instruction with fourth and fifth grade students. I found working with the smaller groups of students was very enjoyable, and thus I am looking to become a tutor. There is nothing like that "Aha" moment in a child's eyes when they grasp a particular concept or material. Also, I coach my children in soccer and enjoy working with them and seeing them learn as well.
I have been substitute teaching at the elementary school level for a little over three years. Also, I was an impact teacher which meant helping fourth and fifth grade students with reading, writing, and mathematics skills. There have also been a few long-term jobs which I have taught and made lesson plans for fourth grade students. My single-subject credential is CLAD certified meaning I can teach K-12 language learners. Not only am I very confident in my abilities to teach students at the elementary grade level, this is the grade level in which I have taught the most.
I have worked with various students at every grade level during my last three years of teaching. On of my jobs was working with small groups of students on reading and writing skills. My credential I currently have is CLAD certified which means I am qualified to teach EL learners in grades K-12. When doing my student teaching in a high school, I worked with many EL learners, using different methods of making the language of the subjects being taught, accessible to them. Also, an elementary school I worked at involved teaching vocabulary, writing, and comprehension skills to sixth through eighth graders. I look forward to helping correct, revise, and/or edit your paper.
