Adobe Illustrator

After taking computer courses in high school and college, I started working full-time for two non-profits in northern California. I use Adobe software daily as the head of graphic design and publications. Our quarterly newsletter, conference art/brochures, social media, educational templates and infographics are done almost entirely by me using a combination of InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.

Adobe InDesign

After taking computer courses in high school and college, I started working full-time for two non-profits in northern California. I use Adobe software daily as the head of graphic design and publications. Our quarterly newsletter, conference art/brochures, social media, educational templates and infographics are done almost entirely by me using a combination of InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.

Adobe Photoshop

As a young gamer and athlete, I was always involved in photography and graphic design. In high school and college, I took several courses to help supplement these skills before beginning full-time work for two education-based non-profits where I manage and assist in the production and distribution of most outreach materials (newsletter, flyers, logos, social media, website, surveys, and more). Nearly every photo or design passes through Photoshop. Though I am self-taught, I am constantly learning and gaining new skills with Adobe software to keep my skills up-to-date. Furthermore, I currently run a couple personal blogs and do projects in graphic design and photography as side work.

American History

Studied AP US History in high school. In Berkeley, my Classics major (ancient history) incorporated relevant material from US History courses on civilizations, genocide, government and more.

I have a unique perspective on American history also due to my heritage and professional work as a Native American. I currently act as a docent, speaker and advisor on California Indian history, which is undeniably intertwined with the US. If you have questions on your California Missions, Gold Rush or other Native-themed reports, I am pleased to assist you.

I grew up playing basketball almost everyday. I played at Montgomery High School in Santa Rosa, CA where I was an All-Empire Selection my junior and senior seasons, and set school records for 3-point shooting (over 130+ 3-pointers my senior year, though I do not know the exact count). In my last game (2008), a playoff loss to Eureka High at Eureka, I set the 60 year old gym record for 3-pointers in a game with 7, scoring 27 points.

I chose to follow my academic interests by enrolling at Cal, though I continued playing basketball recreationally (2 Intramural championships!). The Cal Women's Basketball Team under Head Coach Joanne Boyle picked me up to play as a "Practice Player," where I would scrimmage, help and even coach the team in any way that I could (2010 NIT Champs!).

I have coached over 6 years of summer Basketball Camps for Montgomery High and Santa Rosa Junior College, with young athletes from 4-18 years. I have been asked to give private instruction (paid and unpaid) for years, particularly when it comes to shooting.

Bible Studies

I have read the entire Bible, from Genesis through Revelation. I am very interested in reading about Yahweh's Old Covenant with the Israelites as well as the New Covenant teachings of Jesus Christ, Paul and the other apostles. I have led bible studies as part of a ministry I created and facilitated in college.

Some courses pertaining to Bible Studies and History I have completed at Cal include:

Christianity to 1250 A.D., Hagiography in the Ancient World, Biblical Tradition in Western Literature, History of Hell, The Reformations, Attic Greek 1 & 2 (New Testament originally written primarily in Attic Greek), Latin 1 (Catholic Church reads from Latin Bible).

I am very familiar with contemporary theology/doctrine such as (but not limited to):

Calvinism vs. Arminianism
Catholicism (Catechism)
...and many other denominations (interpretations) claiming to be the correct form of Christianity.

From ancient Greece, Egypt, Israel, Rome, and everywhere in-between, the classical civilizations major at UC Berkeley highlights the iconic philosophies, myths and beliefs that shape our modern world.

I have successfully completed these courses pertaining to Classics:

Greek Civilization (Intro), Roman Civilization (Intro), Latin 1, Attic Greek 1 & 2, Ancient Greek Religion, Ancient Mediterranean World, Christianity to 1250 A.D., Biblical Tradition in Western Literature, Roman Law, Hagiography in the Ancient World, History of Hell.

During my sophomore year, I spent a summer abroad in Florence, Italy studying Italian language and Renaissance History enriching my knowledge of this fascinating world.

College Counseling

Experienced tutor and counselor for many non-profits and schools during college. Included one year on staff with the American Indian Child Resource Center in Oakland, where I advised students in academic subjects, test prep and counseling for prospective college students. I have overseen dozens of college applications in recent years.

Elementary (K-6th)

I manage and coordinate youth programs for an education-based non-profit in Santa Rosa. We host at least ten field trips per year to our museum (over 500 students, most all from elementary schools) and visit around ten elementary schools per year to teach on California Indian culture, life ways, history and governance. I recently collaborated with staff, cultural consultants, and technology consultants to create a professional development website for teachers, students and parents studying the Spanish Missions era (

Prior to my work, I tutored (paid/volunteer/credits) at ten different schools and organizations in the greater Bay Area that served elementary school students, as well as middle, high school and college-age.

I have taken several education courses at UC Berkeley to discuss state mandates, federal policies, trends, and more. I am also CBEST certified and can substitute teach in Sonoma County.

Elementary Math

After taking my last Calculus course during college (a prerequisite for UC Berkeley students), I found that tutoring was a terrific way to embrace my education in mathematics. I have tutored young students from 5 to 20 years old in topics ranging from basic arithmetic to calculus. I do not study math like humanities topics, but I am constantly engaged in youth education and can help make elementary math easier on students and parents.

After excelling in English during high school, I planned to major in English at Cal. My focus changed when I grew fond of Classics, but that did not stop me from continuing to enroll in college English courses, read famous novels and follow trends in our curriculum. In fact, I believe studying Classics aids English coursework because you can easily understand the foundations for stories, literary devices and writing styles. Please consider me for your student if they need help with:

- Shakespeare
- The Great Gatsby (F. Scott Fitzgerald)
- A Tale of Two Cities, Great Expectations (Charles Dickens)
- Lord of the Flies (William Golding)
- A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man (James Joyce)
- The Grapes of Wrath, Of Mice and Men (John Steinbeck)
- Animal Farm (George Orwell)
- The Odyssey, The Iliad (Homer)
- Pride and Prejudice (Jane Austen)
- Mrs. Dalloway (Virginia Woolf)
- The Things They Carried (Tim O'Brien)
- The Color Purple (Alice Walker)

And much, much more! Please message me if you would like to discuss specifics.

Grew up hearing and learning about Italian language and culture from my grandmother (her mother immigrated to the US as a child from Southern Italy). My upbringing led to enrollment in Italian language classes at UC Berkeley. I was selected for the UC Education Abroad Program's Italian Summer Session, where I spent five weeks in Florence, IT immersed in all things Italian. Under Italian PhD candidates, I underwent intensive Italian language and Renaissance studies, while traveling to Rome, Pisa and other hallowed sites.

My last formal studies in Italian were Italian 3 at UC Berkeley. I earned all A's in my language classes, and considered the major before eventually focusing on Classical Civilizations (Greece, Rome, Israel)- no doubt as a result of my experiences with contemporary and Renaissance Italy.

A competent and insightful Italian tutor as a result of my various experiences. Would love to work with your student on:
- art
- culture
- language
- history (ancient Rome to the Renaissance)
- literature (Dante, Petrarch, and more)
- religion (Roman Catholicism, Bible, ancient Roman philosophies and myth history)
- food: mangia, mangia!

Love English and American Literature. After high school, I was determined to major in English until I grew fond of the Classics and Italian culture. I will read anything from the ancients to Nicholas Sparks- at least if my wife asks me to!

If you are interested in help with your assignments or would like to hear my thoughts on a specific story or novel, please message me. I am a seasoned tutor and college graduate that can make difficult material both relevant and fun!

I was hired at Cal to work as Computer Consultant for 2011-12 academic year. I owned and operated Macintosh laptops, iOS since 2008.

Microsoft PowerPoint

Using MS PowerPoint is an essential skill to have in both business and education. I consistently create and give PowerPoint presentations on behalf of my non-profit, an outreach-oriented museum and cultural center. I can show you:

- How to create a slideshow
- How to use tools
- How to include media (links, photos, graphics)
- How to give an outstanding presentation!

Microsoft Publisher

I am the current Editor-in-chief for the quarterly newsletter for a museum & cultural center in California, which is sent to over 500 museum members, tribes, partners and institutions. I create the newsletter using Microsoft Publisher along with MS Word and Adobe software like InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. I also create brochures, flyers, handouts and more as needed for our grant programs.

Microsoft Word

Microsoft Word is the industry standard for word processing. As a high school honors student and humanities major in college, I wrote nearly every paper using Word (probably 1,000+) and worked in a computer lab offering general computer (hardware/software) support to other students and their families where nearly every student used Word. I was trained in high school computer classes on Word and it helped me succeed in college, and now professionally.

As an educator and student, I incorporate proofreading as a vital part of my writing process. I proofread transcripts from novels, essays, college, job and grant applications, and more for various organizations and individuals. If you are considering an important professional venture, you will undoubtedly need someone to proofread your application. If you want to earn stellar grades, you will find there is no substitute for a 'proven' proofreader!

I received mostly A's in Spanish & Honors/AP Spanish courses from 7th-11th grade (B+ in 8th). I currently direct an outreach to (primarily) Spanish-speaking communities in Santa Rosa, providing clothes, food and a message. I have ministered with churches in Tijuana and Guadlajara (MX) on several missions trips. I intend to become completely fluent, and as an active learner & speaker of the language, I can be a great contact for a beginning or intermediate student, especially in high school.

Study Skills

I earned my B.A. from UC Berkeley in 2012. As a freshman, I attended a 1-unit Study Skills seminar that helped shape my study habits for the next four years. I have taught students K-college since 2005 in various subjects. Knowing my time with them is short, I always encourage relevant study techniques for their age, experience and case.
