Hi, I am Ali; I am a friendly and polite tutor with a lifelong interest in learning and teaching science. I am good at math and physics, and I do well in chemistry and astronomy. I am passionate about astronomy and that is why after receiving my B.S. in physics, I decided to concentrate in astronomy and astrophysics in my physics M.S. program at San Francisco State University. I am a recent graduate, and I would love to be helpful to my clients and tutor my students with great care and support.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Differential Equations

I have studied differential and partial differential equations and I am quite proficient in these two subjects. I have done linear constant coefficient equations, some nonlinear and quasilinear equations, series method, laplace transforms, and linear systems of first order equations. Basically I have completed the text in detail that is used for teaching differential equations in college.

Discrete Math

I had finite and discrete math in college. I studied proof, logic, Markov chains, probability, and graph theory. I am quite knowledgeable in this subject.

Linear Algebra

I studied vector spaces, basis of a vector space, coordinate vectors, null spaces, matrices, linear transformations, echelon form of a matrix, reduced echelon form of a matrix, augmented matrix and systems of linear equations, kernel and rank of a
matrix, inner product and norm, eigenvectors and diagonalization and orthogonal transformations. I had matrix algebra and advanced linear algebra in college and I got A's in both of them.

two points on the line could be (2,-1) and (3,-2). to find the slope you can use the equation m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)= (-2-(-1))/(3-2)=(-2+1)/(3-2)= -1/1= -1. to find the x-intercept we let y=0 in the equation and get x=1. if you want to find the y-intercept you can let x=0 in the...

by looking at the periodic table for carbon and oxygen One finds that oxyen is 16 g/mole and carbon is  12.01 g/mole. Since one mole of co is made of 1 mole of Carbon and 1 mole oxygen we simply add the two atomic weights to find co is 28.01 g/ mole.
