I'm a recent college grad with a Bachelor's of Art in Game Development at Cogswell College in Sunnyvale. As of right now I'm still hunting for jobs, and am available for tutoring and freelance full time.
I'm fluent in German, and would gladly help anyone at any level. When I was 6 I moved to Germany, where I was put into a German school without knowing a single word. I initially had to teach myself, and have the benefit of 13 years in German schools, finally having graduated with high marks on my Abitur.
I've also built up a vast range of skills with various high level programs like Photoshop, Maya, and miscellaneous game engines (primarily UDK). I would be happy to pass on what I've learned over the last several years being taught by highly skilled instructors.
I'm willing to meet up with you, or work remotely, whichever comes naturally to you. I can help out with school work, give beginner's advice in the arts and German, or lay out long term study and tutoring plans as needed.
If you feel spoken to at all in the above lines, please don't hesitate to send me a message.
I am currently a senior at Cogwsell College pursuing a Bachelor's of Arts. Though focusing mainly on digital art like painting in Photoshop and modeling in Maya, my curriculum started out with a strong emphasis on traditional art. I have had excellent instructors in sketching, figure drawing, perspective and rendering. I would start out students with blind drawing, then move on to importance of line weight and the cal cool principal. Moving on to rendering and shading objects, then architectural perspective to give them a well rounded beginning. After this I would continue with a heavier emphasis on the student's specific interests.
I have spent the last 3 years studying Game Design & Development at Cogswell College. In that time I have had several classes in Maya 2011, 2012 and 2013, in which I have been taught by animation and game industry professionals. I can teach box and planar modeling, lighting, texturing, importing and exporting to other programs like ZBrush, UDK and Unity, and retopolagizing. I would start tutoring by relaying the importance of quads, relating some significant bugs that would frustrate the students if they weren't aware of them, show how to customize the interface for optimal workflow and begin with some easy hard surface modeling leading into humanoids, bipeds, and complex shapes. Finally I would show them how to properly lay out their UV's, texture in Photoshop or ZBrush, and light their models to produce portfolio worthy renders.
I am currently a senior at Cogswell College pursuing a Bachelor's of Arts, and though my degree focuses more on digital aspects of art like digital painting in Photoshop, creating models in Maya and videogames in UDK and Unity, I took several traditional art classes as well, including illustration in watercolor and acrylic. I would start students off with basic color theory, how colors mix, how colors affect each other and how they can be used to define shapes. Then I would continue with some simple still life paintings, moving on to perspective and plein air paintings with a foray into digital painting with a wacom tablet if the student has an interest in that.
I am currently studying for a Bachelors of Arts at Cogswell College, and I have taken some photography classes. Even before that though I had several years of amateur experience handling a DSLR camera, which I would use for tutoring. I would start students off with initial familiarization with DSLRs, advanced point and shoots, and image qualities. Then I would lay out the basics of composition, color, interaction and motion, to then complete the introduction with a tutorial on how to import and edit the student's shots in Photoshop or similar photo editing programs.
