There is a plethora of experienced tutors available to you, but here are some of the things that set me apart:

*Perfect SAT/SAT II scores - In addition to a 2400 SAT, I have scored an 800 GRE and a 780 GMAT.

*Extraordinary track record - The vast majority of my students see unusually high results. My students frequently go from producing C, D, or F material to B or A material within the first couple weeks. My long time SAT students average between 300 and 400 points improvement in their scores; The most improved student went from a 1480 to a 2160 (680 point improvement)

*Relate well to all types of students. - Some students don't respond well to tutoring because they can't relate to the tutor. A person of many interests, I have taught all ages and many different personalities and always get great results. In particular, I have had better success than most of my counterparts for many "jock" students who don't relate to a brains-only, "nerd" type of tutor.

*Easy going and positive. - Keeping a student motivated and positive is a huge part of getting good results for that student. I am able to keep a student's spirits up even when they're struggling so that they can continue to improve and get over any temporary obstacles.

A little about myself -
Tutoring has been by far the most enjoyable and rewarding job I've ever had. I began my tutoring experience at 15 when I was hired to teach in my High School's tutoring center and have continued teaching ever since.

I went to UCSB straight out of high school on a full scholarship but was forced to withdraw when I was diagnosed with cancer and decided to return to my home-town for treatment. I spent a few years doing other things (music, web design, MMA) but decided to return to college after getting married. My wife and I are both back in school and should be completing our respective bachelor's degrees in two years. I love music, sports, games, fitness, and a billion other things. If you think I may be a fit as a tutor for you or your child, I'll look forward to meeting you and helping you reach your academic goals.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ACT English

Having received perfect scores on the SAT (ACT wasn't around when I was in HS), I have a thorough understanding of the material. I have since trained to teach ACT as well as numerous other subjects and have over 10 years tutoring experience. I have an excellent track record of student score improvement.

ACT Math

Having received perfect scores on the SAT math and SAT II math (ACT wasn't around when I was in HS), I have a thorough understanding of the material. I have over 10 years tutoring experience and have an excellent track record of student score improvement.

Algebra 1

My qualifications include perfect SAT scores, and perfect SAT II math scores. I have excelled in all my math courses (from elementary math to Multivariate Calculus), which include all the standard Algebra classes at both the high school and college level.

Additionally, I have been tutoring for more than 10 years. I have a gift for understanding a student's thinking and helping him or her to truly understand math in a way that far exceeds simple formula memorization.

Algebra 2

In addition to perfect SAT scores and perfect SAT II math scores, I have more than 10 years of math tutoring experience. I'm easy going and positive, good at understanding a student's thinking, and most importantly, gifted at helping students truly understand math in a way that far exceeds simple formula memorization. I have an excellent track record of student improvement and genuinely enjoy helping students reach their goals.

Calculus

Having tutored Calculus students for over 10 years with great success, I am well qualified to teach or tutor the material. I have helped many students go from failing to excelling in their Calculus classes, and seen most of them receive 4s and 5s on their AP tests. I am still pursuing my first Bachelor's but have taken all standard math classes up through Calculus III (Vector Calculus) and several other odds and ends such as Discrete Math and Linear.

Logic

My qualifications include education and experience. I excelled in Discrete Mathematics, which includes the study of logic principles and practices. I got 'A's in all seven of my computer programming classes that covered logic concepts such as programming logic, logic diagrams, circuit logic & diagrams, karnaugh maps and flowcharts. Additionally, scored 99th percentile ten years in a row on the Stanford Achievement Test 9e, which included a logical association section. In addition to my educational qualifications, I have fifteen years of computer programming experience, creating logical solutions to abstract problems.

SAT Math

Having received perfect scores on the SAT math and SAT II math, I have a thorough understanding of the material. I have over 10 years tutoring experience and have an excellent track record of student score improvement. My students generally improve by between 300 and 400 points on their overall SAT score.

SAT Writing

Having received perfect SAT scores, I have a thorough understanding of the material. I have over 10 years tutoring experience and have an excellent track record of student score improvement. My students generally improve by between 300 and 400 points on their overall SAT score.
