Welcome all! I am excited to be working with students who are eager to learn more and gain knowledge. Like everything, with practice, time and dedication everything will come out 10 times better because we are the only ones in charge of the talent of our work! I am currently an undergraduate student majoring in Psychology who aspires to join City Year in LA and Peace Corps after graduating. I recently went on a mission trip to Tanzania, Africa and I am more than blessed to have shared the experience with 8 wonderful young ladies by my side. It's extremely amazing to see just how great it is to receive not only a Third World country experience but to do it alongside receiving a Spiritual journey as well. Upon returning back to the states, I learned just how blessed we are to be living in a place where we can receive a good education and have many opportunities at reach. I would love to travel in the future and continue to plant my own unique seed wherever I go. Since I am fluent in Spanish, and am trying to become fluent in Swahili too, I hope that I can be of your service in any way that I can, not only as a mentor, but as a good friend as well! I enjoy tutoring and I would say that my best subjects are math, languages, English and history. I've also played soccer for most of my childhood, and also played Varsity all 4 years at my past high school and I also love to maintain my body in shape and in constant motion. All in all, I am more than excited to participate in this service and am looking forward to meeting each and everyone of you guys. Since I myself am a student, I know how hard it is to plan a future that you are unsure of, but I think that when we work hard to achieve our purposes, then there is no obstacle that will impede us from succeeding. I've realized that having faith is what keeps you going; it eases your days because you know that even though hard times are inevitable, the sun shines brighter on the side if you choose to look elsewhere. I am very open to learn from others as learning and being able to listen is one of the primarily tools to succeed and one which I have learned to do. I will try to be as flexible and as open as possible, but I am also in college so will have to take in consideration my schedule; nonetheless, I will always try my best to be of service for you guys. Blessings!

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Bible Studies

I currently attend a Catholic church as I was raised Catholic, but I attend a Christian university. Upon attending, I realized that the boundaries that people place between different denominations shouldn't be placed. We are all choosing to worship the same God under different views. It doesn't matter what "belief rituals" you believe in, the only thing that should matter is whether or not you have a relationship with Jesus Christ whom I believe to be My Savior. Instead of listening to what others want us to do in relation to our religion, we should realize that we are the only ones who can decide whether or not to believe in God. Once we accept him, we become filled by His Holy Spirit which is so remarkably amazing!!! But before we can understand the numerous mysteries that this Earth holds and what God implies, we should be able to understand His word which He left for us to submerge in. My college requires us to take religion classes and attend Chapel Service 3 times a week. This past semester, I took Foundations of a Christian Faith (Theology), Old Testament, and am currently taking New Testament Survey. I also attended Sunday school in my church in order to do my First Communion, and Confirmation all of which I have done as well. But I think that acting is just a part of the whole, not only do you need acts and deeds but you also need a commitment to form, have and feed the relationship with Christ. Accepting Him is just a part of it, the next is living a daily life filled with His Spirit and love and wanting to become a better person not for what it entails but because you know the truth and you believe that it is what you have been called to. This summer in my mission trip to Tanzania I realized just how vast, AMAZING and awestrucking God is and how good He is to each of us who seek him. I realized that there is a hunger for something better than this world, and while many of us find that fulfillment with money and material things, there are many people who are eager to find Jesus in their lives; to leave their old selfs and be filled with a new identity. I think that experiences like these hardly ever happen and taking advantage of them is something that we should all do whenever they do come. Africa is so rich in many ways and while there is no need to travel 100,000 miles across to country to realize how GOOD God is, sometimes its necessary :) Upon returning to the states, I realized many things and am so thankful to have a family that supports and knows God but who is also experiencing tremendous problems but still manages to keep faith during tribulation. All in all, I think that reading and understanding and applying the Bible to our lives is vital and reflects how we view the world and how we decide to take it day by day hour by hour. I know now, that Faith moves mountains,an action which speaks for itself!
"The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust' my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold." Psalm 18:2

Elementary (K-6th)

I am a member of Teen Challenge, and volunteered with my high school in helping nearby elementary schools after school. I love to work with children and help them learn with a playful attitude and make them interact as much as they can. I also help elementary children after school with their homework, speaking English, and playing with them in the after school programs that the schools offer. I am very patient and like to bring in my own books and learning tools to help ease the relationship with each student. I've volunteered at 2 elementary schools in the Santa Ana Unified School District; Edison Elementary and Diamond Elementary. I am currently an undergraduate student majoring in Psychology.
