Greetings parents & students,

Thank you for taking the time to consider me in your search for a tutor. I have worked with students in elementary school, adult learners (both college graduates and on-the-job learners), and every group in between. Each student is capable of learning a great deal when the right instructor is met by an individual's desire to learn.

In addition to my undergrad degrees in Management, Marketing, and Automotive Technology, I have studied a wide range of subjects, both in and out of a classroom: accounting, broadcasting, economics, English, natural science, photography, social media, and theater (just to name a few). My current plan is to complete graduate studies focusing on sustainable business & economic growth. All this knowledge will enable me to impact individual lives and the world as a whole.

My personal history has been filled with challenges and successes. I grew up in a military family, moving frequently and experiencing many cultures along the way. I completed high school at the age of 16, as an independent student in a home school program, graduating with a 4.0 GPA while creating a portion of my own curriculum and holding a full-time job. During the mid-90s, I led student teams in the design and construction of banner-winning floats in two consecutive Tournament of Roses Parades. Over the last several years, I have taken the initiative to expand the reach of a broadcast radio talk show from local to global through the use of social media, led the creation of the strategic plan for an educational funding organization, organized and led a continuous improvement team to design and build a new sound system for an 800-seat venue, co-created the curriculum for a leadership & management course recognized by the State of California for the advancement of incumbent workers, and wrote a successful licensing proposal to the estate of a world-famous musician as part of the creation of a clothing line. In 2011, I completed the coursework to receive a business degree with a double major, graduating summa cum laude, and speaking as valedictorian of the entire graduating class.

All of my experiences give me a perspective you will not find in many tutors. Contact me with any questions you may have about the tutoring process and to set up our first session. I look forward to working with you.

Respectfully,

Bil

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Bible Studies

I grew up in a Bible reading family. My father has been a pastor to civilians and members of the armed forces, missionary, and is a hospital chaplain. My mother is also well-versed in the Bible, has worked and studied hard in support of my father's ministries, and is an accomplished lay minister in her own right. Both of my parents led my family in daily Bible devotionals.

I continue to have my own daily bible devotionals, posting my thoughts online. I am also the co-host of a Bible-based radio talk show that airs weekly on Sports Radio AM830 KLAA from Southern California and reaches people across the US & around the world. The Bible gives us guidance from The Lord relevant to our daily lives, helping those who would truly listen to His Word make the best possible decisions.

Business

I am experienced in crafting business plans, licensing agreements, marketing plans, and training programs (focusing on leadership, management, and sales). I graduated summa cum laude from Northwood University with a Bachelor's of Business Administration and spoke as the valedictorian at commencement. I double majored in Automotive Marketing & Management, excelling in strategic planning, managerial accounting, finance, economics, and visionary leadership management.

Study Skills

I have always been a high performing student, completing high school with a 4.0 GPA and graduating Summa Cum Laude with a double major from college. I began teaching study skills in the 1990s, starting with test preparation and developing a program that includes memorization, time management, and deductive reasoning skills. My own skills in these areas have come from classroom study and real world experience (e.g., memorizing scripts for live performances, diagnosing technical issues for mechanical and electrical repair, managing office & field personnel & resources).
