Hi everyone,

My name is Scott, and I am a recent grad from Fresno Pacific University with a BA in Biblical and Religious Studies.

I have experience doing Bible Studies with youth groups, and I help my nephew and my niece with their homework often. I like to ask the people I tutor or teach questions in order to help them think through the problem they are facing on their own. The best way to teach is to guide students with questions and dialogue that provokes thinking. This method makes the tutoring and the learning more of a team effort, rather than just lecturing and instructing. When learning is a team effort it tends to give the student a sense of empowerment and personal responsibility for their learning. My goal for any student I teach or tutor is for them to feel that they played a part in their own learning.
