My name is Tony C. I teach trombone at San Francisco State University, Sonoma State University and Santa Rosa Junior College. I also a coach at the Humboldt University Brass Chamber Music Workshop each July.
I am in demand as one of the top freelance artists in the San Francisco Bay area. I frequently perform with many of the professional symphony orchestras in the area including The San Francisco Opera, Symphony Silicon Valley, The Western Opera Theater, The Oakland East Bay Symphony, The Marin Symphony, The Fresno Philharmonic, The Monterey Symphony, The Napa Valley Symphony, The California Symphony and Opera San Jose. I have also performed with the San Francisco Symphony. I hold the position of second trombone with the Modesto Symphony and during the summer months I am the principal trombonist of the Sunriver Music Festival in Sunriver, OR.
Having grown up in Atlanta, GA and gone to college in New York at the Manhattan School of Music, I have performed with many of the countries top arts organizations outside of California including the Metropolitan Opera and The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra (with whom I have recorded two Grammy winning discs).
Among the jazz, and pop artists that I have performed with are The Four Tops, The Temptations, The Moody Blues, Yes, Lou Rawls, Tony Bennet, Dianne Schurr, Franky Valley, Vicky Carr, Johnny Mathis, Chris Botti and Ray Charles.
I actively perform as a founding member of the Silicon Valley Brass Quintet with other major San Francisco bay area freelancers.
I currently live in Sonoma County with my family. In addition to my busy freelance performing schedule I am active as a private teacher and clinician as well as performing as a soloist.
