As a a math teacher and tutor over the past 20 years, I love teaching and tutoring.
For older students, who have missed a solid foundation in fractions, percent, multiplication and division, algebra will be an extra challenge. So I make sure my students have really mastered the elementary skills as they begin their study of algebra.
Learning Algebra is like learning a whole new language. There are words and concepts that are new and a can be bit overwhelming. But algebra doesn't have to be difficult. If taken one step at a time, with lots of practice and success in the simple steps, it can be a lot of fun and quite an adventure.
Because I love algebra, I like to share that enjoyment with others. If you have a student struggling with PreAlgebra or Algebra I, I would love the opportunity to help him/her to master this new way of looking at math.
