Algebra 1

Algebras I&II make the backbone, the very foundation, for all lower-division work in university mathematics. I am well aware of the areas where students often falter and know how to create approaches unique to each student that will work to make a truly independent thinker.

Algebra 2

Algebra II comprises three key aspects: equations, graphs, and applications (word problems). Understanding this level of Algebra is pivotal in the success of any student in university mathematics.

My approach to tutoring Algebra II is Socratic. We work problems together on separate paper, and I guide you with leading questions so that you arrive at the solution on your own. I believe this offers better comprehension and helps you remember the different strategies used to solve problems...

Geometry

A pure Geometry course is all about proving more and more abstract ideas using a handful of unquestioned assumptions, or postulates, if you prefer. Today's high school courses in Geometry have more emphasis on measuring, reasoning, and applications. It is the branch of math that most easily connects pertinent,real-life & everyday examples to the rules of logical thinking.

Precalculus

This course is a preparation for Calculus. It is intended to deepen conceptual understanding and technical skill. The student gains an appreciation for the power of mathematics to model the real-world.

ASVAB

The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is the most widely administered aptitude test in the United States. The ASVAB is called an aptitude battery because its results are used to predict the ability to learn skills – specifically skills required for different work. The test is based on research to help predict success in a wide range of different jobs. The results help focus student interest and aptitude for careers – both military and civilian.
