I enjoy helping others learn English as a second language. I have volunteered my time in helping many learn English via Catholic Charities and the Adult Literacy League. I received my training from LinguaEdge, passing with merit- a level 2- teaching certificate. This is a more robust training in teaching methods and approaches. Many of my students have some basic English skills, many are Spanish speakers needing intensive tutoring. I have taught small groups English or single persons from young adult to adult.
Teaching English to a non-native requires patience and practice in reading, writing, and speaking. Once an evaluation is completed, the focus is on the weakest area, while continuing to improve the stronger ones.
