Also currently teaching a French Conversation course for six week periods to people who are about the travel to a French speaking country, I am well aware of how important listening to, hearing, and understanding exactly what is being said to you - as well as what type of questions to ask. I also know, it should be fun learning to speak and understand a foreign language...at least it is for me. I enjoy teaching and tutoring because I like to see the "light bulb" go on when students really understand what questions to ask and what answers they receive, and to respond to the answers. I remember when I was studying in France during my junior year, I became well aware that I understood the language when I began to dream in French - I knew then it was an "Aha! light bulb experience for me. Since then, it's been a joy speak, listen to and respond in the language.
I have worked for the French ministry for a period of 2 years and absolutely enjoyed that experience as well.
