Hello Parents and Students,

I'm honored to be a potential role model for the youth of today. After excelling in high school with a GPA of 95.5, I went on to Dalhousie University, an exceptional Canadian University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Through my coursework, I received a double major in Biology and Neuroscience. This included a lot of biology, ecology, statistics, physiology, animal behavior, and conservation. While science was my forte, I am a skilled writer, and have always enjoyed and excelled in history. Outside of my classes, I joined the lacrosse team at Dalhousie, became the captain of the team, and helped lead the team to two championships.

I am currently the head coach of a successful high school lacrosse team in the area. Over the last couple years I have been a Marine Science Instructor for the Catalina Island Marine Institute off the coast of Long Beach, CA, where I gained experience teaching a variety of learning abilities ages 8-18. Prior to that, I was a lacrosse coach and Conservation Educator for the Columbia Gorge Ecology Institute based out of Hood River, Oregon. Over the past few years I've enjoyed the pleasure of helping out middle school and high school students with how to build confidence, have fun, and excel in science through outdoor education.

Guitar

I have informally taught several people to play guitar, and I have been playing guitar for 13 years now. I also grew up excelling at saxophone, where I competed in Jazz band. All in all, music has been a big part of my life and well being.

Music History

I took two classes in music history in college at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. One of the classes was History of Modern Music Up to 1960, and the other class was Rock 'N Roll Era and Beyond. My coursework focused on music and its correlation with social change over the past 120 years, starting with Waltz music up through the development of electronic music. In addition to my formal coursework, music history in general has been a huge passion of mine.

Soccer

I have played soccer for a very long time. At the age of 13 and 14 I played club soccer, traveled to Ireland to play several teams, and won a state championship with my team. In high school I excelled in the sport, and I went on to play intramural soccer in college (in addition to playing on the lacrosse team). I am currently a varsity lacrosse coach, but I experience coaching soccer as well over the years and I enjoy it very much.

Yoga

From doing Hot Yoga in college every week, to learning Vinyasa over the years, I have visited yoga studios and participated in Yoga sessions in 4 different states or provinces and at ten different yoga studios. This has given me the opportunity to see several teaching styles regarding yoga. While I have no formal experience as a yoga instructor with a certification, I have taught friends and family yoga over the past few years.

Macintosh

I have been using Apple computers since 4th grade when I learned to type on Apple II E's. Since then, I have always used apple, including high school, college, and for personal use at home. I am very familiar with the ins and outs of apple computers.

Lacrosse

I played lacrosse for 8 years before playing in college, where I won two Championships in the MUFLL and became captain of my lacrosse team. I also won the "Top Senior" Award for the MUFLL my senior year of college. For three years now I have been coaching, and I'm the Head Varsity Coach for Boys Lacrosse at Scotts Valley High School.
