My name is Tizoc. I grew up in Santa Cruz and went to Santa Cruz High. I recently graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a B.S. in Environmental Studies. I was a Political Science major for the first year of college and have a very strong understanding of government and politics both on a national and on global level. I did my area of outside concentration in wild lands management and conservation in South Africa.
I am currently working as a substitute teacher in the area and sub all over the county. During the summers I work for the City of Santa Cruz as a lifeguard and junior guard instructor and have experience directly working with children from ages 6-17. I enjoy working with children, am well-spoken, well-traveled, and have excellent oral and written communication skills. I am particularly well versed at writing essays and never received any grade lower than a "B" on any college paper. I also am excellent with trigonometry and have a thorough understanding of the material. I am also strong in the subjects of biology and chemistry. I am a very patient teacher, with a good sense of humor and have a way of explaining things so that anyone can understand.
I took Latin for 3 years in junior high and first year of high school and am fluent in Spanish and I got a 2010 on my SAT's when I took them. I took a Kaplan course to prepare and recall the strategies for taking the SAT's. One of my English teachers was a nun and really drilled in grammar, syntax and sentence structure into my head. I can diagram any sentence and explain the function of every lexical category.
