I have nine years of experience teaching students from a wide variety of educational and socioeconomic backgrounds and am currently an adjunct instructor in Composition and Literature at Lone Star College and serving as the official writing tutor for SMU's Perkins Theological Seminary. I am currently completing an MS in Curriculum and Instruction, and I hold an MA in English from Vanderbilt University. English is my passion, but I have taught drama, tutored extensively in ESL, Humanities, history, proofreading and editing, and ACT and SAT test preparation. I feel that a relationship between tutor and student should build confidence and help the student enjoy the subject at hand, so I always try to relate to my students and earn their trust with humor, kindness, and professionalism.
