I have a bachelor's degree in Natural Science and teaching credentials in Biology and Mathematics. I have four years of teaching experience in both the public and private school settings. I have been a tutor for 9 years, and have experience tutoring in Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-calculus, Statistics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Earth Science.

In addition to my professional experience, I graduated first in my class of 600 students in high school, and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Cal State LA. I understand how to succeed in school, and I try to help my tutoring students not only understand the subject matter they need help with, but also understand how to become better students. I love to help students turn their struggles into success!

Genetics

Genetics is one of my favorite areas of biology. I transferred high schools specifically to take an honors molecular genetics course in which we regularly performed gene splicing, bacterial transformations, and DNA electrophoresis. Microbiology

In high school, I opted to take an honors microbiology elective, where I learned how to make cultures of bacteria using both liquid and solid media. We also learned how to identify various types of bacteria and perform bacterial transformations.
