Hello!
My name is Mark and I am a Senior at Santa Clara University studying Math. Yes, MATH!
I am also rather fond of scooters, even though I have had some difficult experiences with them in the past. When I was 10 years old I ate the pavement on a scooter and a week and a couple hospital visits later I had road rash over my entire back, a fractured arm, and stitches in my side. It was a long recovery, and I did not ride a scooter for about 5 years after that accident. But today I have come to the point where I love riding scooters again, and actually am known on campus as the kid who zips around on a razor scooter. All the other cool college kids have longboards, but me, I am proud of my scooter. Ride with pride baby!
Your experience with math may not be as traumatic as mine with scooters, but the reality is that many of us have had a difficult time with math, and that is why I am here! To help you out and show that math can be fun, interesting, and understandable.
I have had a lot of informal tutoring experience. Throughout high school I tutored many friends, and at college there have been many late nights helping fellow students with their math homework. This year I became part of the Math Honors Society, Pi Mu Epsilon, and have tutored twice a week in our math hall on campus.
I highly value being personable and kind to my students, helping them see the big picture of what is going on, and providing them the help and additional resources necessary for their success.
