My career in education began in high school: as a member of the National Honors Society, I would volunteer my tutoring services to my peers and I received an award for my volunteer tutoring at Greenmont Avenue Elementary School in Dracut. In college, I began private tutoring for tuition money. When I graduated Suma Cum Laude from the University of Massachusetts as a Bachelor of Science in Biology, I used my expertise in education first at Granby High School in Norfolk, Virginia and later on a Enterprise Academy in Newport News, Virginia. My 2 years of experience in inner-city public schools solidified my preconception that large class sizes waste time and money. Fed up with the ineffectiveness and bureaucracy of the public school system, I pursued my masters of science at Virginia Tech and again graduated with distinction. When I moved to California, I was determined to craft my own educational program for one on one tutoring that would be high yield and time efficient. I worked for AJ Tutoring,one of the largest private tutoring companies in the bay area, for the last 2 years, helping hundreds of students navigate the standardized testing gauntlet.
