Hello Students,

Beyond striving to ensure that students learn the fundamental content of the courses I teach. My objectives as a university teacher are to foster your critical thinking skills, facilitate the acquisition of lifelong learning skills, and to prepare all students to function as highly skilled and extremely competent in their field of study.

Furthermore, my overall teaching philosophy is that active student learning, strongly influences student-learning outcomes, and assessment procedures strongly influence student acquisition of knowledge.

My emphasis in teaching is on learning. My teaching goal is to facilitate learning and I believe that teaching plays a major role in that.

Learning is primarily the student's responsibility, whereas teaching is my responsibility. My emphasis is on helping the student to learn, rather than just dispensing my knowledge to them. I am there to “light their candle," not just "fill their bucket.”

Let me see if I can help you.

Warm regards,

Professor B.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Baseball

I played lots of baseball as youth and an adult. Currently I am a manager of my son's little league baseball team. Also, I am a coach coordinator and board member for a local little league.

Bible Studies

I entered the year long "School of Evangelism" at Calvary Chapel in North Park many years ago. Since then I attend church regularly and believe that there is a creator and he did send his son to earth to pay for our sins. His name is Jesus.

Business

I have an MBA. I currently teach this subject for an Regionally Accredited online local college. I started my own businesses and had great success. If you have the will you can do anything in business.

Career Development

I have an MBA and still work for Ashford University. Initially I was an enrollment counselor. I would first see what career each student would like. Then I would inquire as to what were there hobbies and interests were. I would go over the their degree and what careers are in line with each degree.

Golf

I am an avid golfer. I won three tournaments in the men's club at Torrey Pines. I love to hit the long ball but as they say; hit for show put for dough.

Marketing

I have an MBA. My past work experience proves I am a leader in marketing. In fact I currently teach this subject at the college level.

Public Speaking

My college degrees are an AA, BA, and an MBA. My curriculum vitae explains why my experience and education qualify me for public speaking. Currently I am a local college professor where I must speak in front of my class weekly. I must show confidence, sincerity, conviction and enthusiasm for the subject I am teaching. I have over ten years of public speaking experience. I was the president of the San Diego Limousine Association for several consecutive terms. During the Superbowl in San Diego, I lectured with the Superbowl Host Committee on areas of safety, health, and welfare in front of a thousand or so guests. My education and experience qualify me for public speaking.
