- Bhaskar, Dublin, CA on 2/19/15
Stacey is doing a phenomenal job helping with HS English writing and SAT English prep.
Referred by one of our friends, we are glad we found her.
- Nipun, Pleasanton, CA on 9/15/14
Stacey is an excellent teacher. She has been helping our daughter who is a senior with her college essays. Stacey developed a nice working relationship with her and helped her organize her thoughts, provide meaningful edits, and helped her complete the essays in a timely manner. We couldn't have done it without her help.
"Wonderful SAT Prep Tutor"

Stacey is doing a wonderful job helping my son prepare for the SAT. She is patient and engaging with her students.
"Excellent ACT tutor!"
- Linda, Danville, CA on 1/29/14
We hired Stacey to help my daughter prepare for the ACT English and Reading test. It is very difficult to find ACT tutors so we were thrilled that Stacey was so well versed in the test. My daughter has high test anxiety and did not score to her potential on her first sitting with the ACT even after eight weeks of preparation with another tutor. We only had three days with Stacey and our goal was to help my daughter with how to approach the test so she made sure to finish each section. First of all, Stacey related to my teenage daughter very well. Stacey did not waste any time. She knew exactly how to use the tutoring time to the full extent. I have never seen such confidence in my daughter as when she sat for the ACT after Stacey's tutoring. My daughter raised her English score by 4 points and her reading score by 5 points! My daughter felt proud to send her ACT score to colleges and she just received an offer from her first choice college with a a four year merit award. We highly recommend Stacey not only for her excellent tutoring skills but also for her ability to build confidence.
- Paul, San Ramon, CA on 1/28/14
Stacey was very patient and understanding with the challenges my son faced with reading. Just in a few sessions we noticed a big improvement. We also enjoyed the reading tips she provided.

Stacey is an awesome tutor who helped me with my SAT reading and writing. She is very knowledgeable, patient, and easy to get along with. I got 710 in writing and 650 in critical reading.
Thank you, Stacey. Great job!
"Exceptional writing tutor, indeed!"
- Mey, Pittsburg, CA on 9/19/13
Stacey possesses an exceptional ability to connect with my 14 year old. With a firm, but friendly demeanor, Stacey is quite effective in presenting both simple and complex concepts. She’s worked patiently with my child to help her gain better command of literary analysis and interpretation in essay writing. She is consistently patient and encouraging, which has helped develop my daughter’s self-esteem and confidence in her ability to handle the subject matter.
"Great help for my Italian student!"

Stacey has been a great help to our son that is struggling with Italian. His grade has steadily improved while working with Stacey. She is punctual for our sessions and respects our conflicts in time. She is patient with her students and understands their learning styles quickly! Stacey is a great Italian tutor!
Stacey is a great tutor! She employs a quick understanding of each student's strengths and helps them apply that to other areas of study. We've found a real treasure in Stacey! Thank you Stacey.
"Very" ...Encouraging, Reliable, Intelligent, Optimistic, and Relatable"
- Tambra, Livermore, CA on 4/17/13
These are but a few words to describe Stacey as a tutor. Stacy was supportive, and worked with my style of learning and writing. I never felt uncomfortable and she never made me feel inconsequential. Stacy made me feel more confident and gave me an I can do it attitude! She is worth every dollar you spend. She made it easy for me because she was able to come to my home. Stacey will transform your educational experience and give you the boost you need to finish whatever you working on. Stacey is more than a tutor she is Teacher.
"Honest, Direct, Reliable, Caring!"
- Karena, Orinda, CA on 4/5/13
How refreshing it has been to find an educator who will honestly voice their opinion. Stacey has demonstrated time and again that her goal for my 10-yr-old son is not only to improve his writing, but for him to be honest about his abilities not only with others, but also with himself.
Stacey expects 100% participation from her students, and in turn, my son has responded by wanting to do the best he can.
We are beginning what I hope to be a very productive journey.
"Thank you Stacey!"
- Cole, Walnut Creek, CA on 2/26/13
My son was having a hard time with Spanish. He struggled through Spanish I, and needed help with Spanish II. In came Stacey to the rescue! Within weeks, my son was back on track and performing well in the class. Stacey figured out quickly what type of learner he was, and built a weekly plan that forged his success. He has also used what he has learned from Stacey and applied it to his other courses to see the same successes there. Thank you so much Stacey!!!
- Beth, Castro Valley, CA on 1/31/13
My 10 year old daughter is taking vocal lessons from Stacey and we have been very impressed with her progress. Stacey has been able to explain exactly what my daughter needs to do in order to improve her performance and she works diligently with her. Stacey also has a wonderful attitude and a fun personality. We look forward to these lessons.

Our son is a musician. He is unorganized and has a tough time focusing on academics. Stacey has helped him immensely. She is providing structure and strategy around studying. She is knowledgeable and relates well to our son. She is innovative and offers fresh ideas. Stacey is results oriented and engages our son in continued communication and followup outside of and between sessions. Stacey is always prompt and flexible with her schedule. She was a huge help at exam time, when she made herself available for extra sessions. Stacey is well in tune with the challenges our son has, particularly in Italian. Our son was struggling and was having a really hard time keeping up with a rigorous pace without understanding what the teacher was looking for. Stacey is well aware of various instructors' styles and methods of teaching and is helping our son learn to adapt and anticipate in order to stay on top of his assignments. His highest semester exam score, outside of music theory and band, was Italian. He finished the semester with flying colors and received comments from his teachers; "improving", "tutoring has been very beneficial". We can't say enough good things about Stacey. We just feel really fortunate to have connected with such an effective teacher.
"Patient and knowledgeable"
- Rita, Pittsburg, CA on 6/26/12
Stacey helped my daughter raise her SAT and ACT test scores in the English/reading portion. She was very personable and my daughter took to her very well. She was able to show my daughter easy techniques that gave her more confidence on test day. My daughter raised her Reading score on her SAT almost 100pts, with only a week and half of tutoring. My daughter was very pleased with Stacey, and raised her confidence which was key for my daughter on test day.
"Creative and fun style of teaching"
- Julie, Walnut Creek, CA on 5/24/12
My son was in Spanish 3 and making little progress with the language at that level. Stacey quickly identified that he was on the brink of understanding verb conjugations and knowing when to use which verb tense. He also needed work with vocabulary acquisition to increase his vocabulary as well.
Stacey gave our son a translation assignment from a children's book. This exercise of translating a children's book with the use of a Spanish dictionary (if needed) was instrumental in helping him connect to all of the out-of-context grammar lessons he was trying to absorb, and also improved and increased his Spanish vocabulary. Our son improved a whole letter grade and feels much more confident in class.
I would highly recommend Stacey. She is patient, fun and makes learning Spanish less intimidating.
"Having great sessions with Ms. Stacey"

- Lorri, Danville, CA on 4/13/12
Stacey did a great job with my son. She worked with him on ACT prep. He just needed some skills to help him with his confidence about test taking. Stacey accomplished that by showing him tricks to reading questions, what to look for, and time management. She did a great job, and my son feels much better about taking the test.
- Fei, Pleasant Hill, CA on 4/10/12
Stacey is a very nice and patient teacher. She loves music and you can tell that when you are having class with her. I am taking beginning piano class and I love working with her.

"Great tutor--very understanding of a busy high school schedule"
- Christy, Walnut Creek, CA on 3/1/12
Stacey has been great for my son. She's always willing to adapt to changing situations and is consistent in her delivery of high quality instruction. She is able to deal with my son's very ambiguous teacher's methods and seems to be able to pinpoint the critical needs in each lesson. I would highly recommend her!
"Patient and Personable Tutor"
- Heather, Danville, CA on 12/26/11
Stacey L. is helping our 10 year old son prepare for the Independent School examination. We find that she is extremely patient and prepares herself more than adequately for each lesson, by bringing resources she has researched that will help our son even when she isn't here. Stacey constructs each lesson to suit our son's needs; there is no cookie cutter formula with her. Stacey is also trying very hard to make sure that my son's handwriting is more legible than his usual spider tracks. We receive detailed and timely reviews of each session. We would happily recommend Stacey L. for your tutoring needs; it is not for lack of her consistent efforts our son will fail this challenging test before him. We anticipate with both their efforts, our 10 year old will have a much improved chance of passing.
"Wonderful Spanish Tutor"
- Liz, Lafayette, CA on 10/30/11
We moved to town and a new school mid-semester and Stacey has helped my son make the transition. She has done a great job assessing "where he is" and what he needs to work on. She is very flexible about helping him with whatever he needs (homework, test preparation, etc) and is proactive about what he needs to work on to improve his Spanish skills. She also is a really nice person.
- Douglas, Discovery Bay, CA on 10/27/11
Sessions go very smoothly and she keeps it interesting so that we are motivated to progress. Thank you very much Stacey!

Tutoring with Stacey has the distinct advantage of her superior education. She is able to teach grammar in English as well as in Spanish, making it all more easily understandable with her examples. She is AWESOME!
- Sungwon, Concord, CA on 3/30/11
I heard from my son. She is wonderful to teach and kind to him, though he can not speak English well.
