Hi! I would love to help you gain proficiency and confidence with all aspects of the English language, using the skills and experience that I have developed while teaching EFL abroad and ESL in the US over the past 10 years. Whether you want to improve your reading, writing, listening, or speaking abilities, we can develop a plan that works for you.

My teaching philosophy is rooted in the respect and appreciation I have for all students, their contributions to the lesson, and their diverse needs and backgrounds. My proactive effort to get to know each student allows me to accommodate his/her particular learning style and establish a supportive teacher-student rapport. I work hard to make the learning experience both effective and stimulating by using student-centered, communicative, and whole language methods to foster fluency, accuracy, and self-confidence. In addition, I hold a Master’s Degree in TESOL from the SIT Graduate Institute (formerly the School for International Training). Using the experiential learning cycle, the program worked with the most innovative pedagogical approaches and assessment models in the field, giving me a deep understanding of the mechanisms behind second (or additional) language acquisition.

I have ample experience teaching ESL students ranging in levels from beginner to advanced, and age 11 to adult. I have developed a strong cultural competence as my students’ backgrounds varied across cultures, nationalities, and experience in formal education. I consistently receive positive feedback from students, who often state their appreciation for my ability to find the most suitable avenues for them to access learning content.

I look forward to meeting future students and helping them reach their personal language-learning goals.
