Martial Arts

I started taking TaeKwonDo at the age of 4. I competed a few times in Elementary School and placed each time. At the age of 12, I received my black belt at Millbrae TaeKwonDo Black Belt School; I later on went to practice at Kik's TaeKwonDo where I was both a student and teacher's assistant. Early this year, I was an instructor at Core TaeKwonDo for students from ages 3 to 40, but I had to leave due to a family emergency.

Violin

I started learning Violin at the age of 8 and I currently still study and play. I not only played at school but also received tutoring at Happy Mozart Music School for four years. I also played Violin for my church's choir. I tutored a ten-year-old child on the Violin and by the time of his first playing test, he was placed in the top section. I taught him the notes/note values and what they sounded like also how to tune his own instrument before we even started playing, so by the time he did start playing he was able to play through Suzuki book one within a month – he also kept a practice log which his mother filled out and he would be required to play a full song from the Suzuki book that we practiced every two weeks.

Approved Subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet certified in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
