For reading, writing, grammar, and test prep, my goal is to teach the fundamental skills so that my students can succeed outside of my tutoring sessions.
I have been using Microsoft Office for over 10 years; in fact, I would say that I've been using general computers since elementary school. I am experienced in both Microsoft Office 2003 and Microsoft Office 2007. In addition to Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint, I also have experience using Quick Books. Prior to becoming a Sociology major, I was an accounting major and did bookkeeping as an administrative assistant to a CPA. In addition, I recently did the bookkeeping for the real estate company I worked for. My approach to teaching computers is to teach the task once and allow my student to be hands-on during the rest of the session.
Of all of the mathematics subjects this is my favorite topic to teach. I believe that Algebra 1 is a foundation for all higher level mathematics. Over the years I have learned how to make Algebra fun and accessible even for struggling learners.
