Approved subjects are in bold.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I've taught English to all levels of proficiency, both one-on-one and through seminars (up to 10 people at once).
Whether you're just learning English or nearly fluent, I can help you. For people who want to learn how to speck in English for practical reasons such as a recent move to the U.S., we focus on learning the most common words and phrases first, conversation skills, and memorization techniques. Grammar is a secondary concern, because the goal is to get you having conversations as fast as possible.
If you're in school, we design a lesson plan according to your needs. Maybe you need to memorize vocabulary faster. Or perhaps you're having trouble with a particular grammatical concept. Then we go from there.
I've always enjoyed Geography in school, and I still read almanacs and atlases for fun. I can teach you powerful memory techniques to learn names and places, and have fun doing it.
I am skilled in writing speeches, speaking in front of groups of all sizes (I've spoken in front of hundreds of people at once), and improvisational speaking. I've been winning speech contests and debate contests since I was 8 years old. I love to speak!
Many aspects go into making someone a great speaker, and I can help you with as many of them as you need to achieve your goals. As a client with me, we work on your mental, physical, and psychological abilities. You learn techniques to improve in each area, and receive constant feedback to make the dramatic improvements you desire. I'm excited to help you become the confident and competent speaker you've always wanted to be!
With a minor in Spanish from USC and 6 months spent living abroad in Peru and Spain, I can help you with everything you need to become a fluent Spanish speaker including grammar, practical speaking and listening skills, and memory techniques to learn and recall foreign vocabulary.
School was easy for me up until college, when I was a pre-med Neuroscience major. I quickly learned that in order to succeed, it was not enough to study the material; I had to master the material. I had to learn study systems and find out which worked best for me to get the grades that I wanted.
In my neuroscience classes, I also learned more about how we learn, store, and recall information. I learned why certain study systems work better than others.
I will work with you to design the best study system for you that allows you to master your subject more quickly and more easily.
I earned a perfect score of an 800 on the writing section on the SAT, and I've always enjoyed writing. I can help you with essay structure, style, and grammar.
