Chess

I have been playing Chess for over 15 years, and play at a very high level.

Social Studies

As a Medieval Studies graduate from UC Davis, I was able to delve into several topics that together make up 'Social Studies'. To begin with, my minor was through the History department, as were a majority of the classes I took for Medieval studies. My main foci were literature and religion, but I have experience with economics, psychology, sociology, metaphysics, mythology, and even the history of science.

Study Skills

After several years working with the AVID program, I have perfected the art of studying. I have used and taught others to use cornell notes, as well as having kept up and taught others to keep up neat and clean binders. Among the most useful talents I learned in AVID was time management, and I have passed that on to my students.

I kindly point you towards my High School math scores, amongst the best in each class, to show the effectiveness of those study skills, as well as to my History and English scores from UC Davis for the same purpose.

Approved Subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet certified in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
