I offer college counseling services to meet the needs of a variety of students. I work one-on-one with students on their personal statements, application supplemental questions, and scholarship essays. Depending on where you are in the college application process, my services can include topic brainstorming, draft reviews, or just final editing. I also guide students in developing a balanced list of "best-fit" Safety, Match, and Reach colleges. I work with all types of students, including with student-athletes, LD Students, and First-Generation Students.

I have specialized certificate in College Counseling from the University of California, Irvine, and am a member of the Western Association of College Admissions Counselors (WACAC). I regularly attend conferences and speaking engagements on all aspects of college admissions. I enjoy visiting and touring college campuses to keep current on college admissions practices.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

College Counseling

I have a certificate in College Counseling from the University of California at Irvine. Coursework included the following courses: Principles of Educational Consulting, Navigating Financial Aid, College Admissions Consulting Resources, Developing an Independent Educational Consulting Business, American College Consulting for International Students, and Working with Students with Learning Differences. I work as a volunteer college counselor in San Francisco, assisting students weekly with college essays and personal statements, college research, and preparing balanced college lists.
