I am a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Southern California, where I have had several years of tutoring and teaching experience. I have taught at the elementary, middle, and high school levels as well as to students with learning disabilities. My tutoring methods with USC student athletes led to 100% rate of passing classes. In addition, my test preparation tutees have all gone on to score 2000+ on the SAT and have gone to four year colleges (including UC Berkeley, UC Davis, and UC Irvine). I have experience tutoring in a range of subjects, from math (pre-algebra to calculus), science and social science (biology, psychology, sociology) as well as economics, business administration (statistics, accounting, operations, finance), international relations/global studies, and English/writing. I will be able to tutor at the elementary, high school, or college level. My techniques have a very high success rate and I am also open to feedback from students and parents on customizing sessions so that the best tutoring methods are used to meet each students' individual needs.
I have studied socio-cultural and biological anthropology at both Santa Clara University and the University of Southern California. I have a certificate in Neuroscience from USC, which heavily incorporates anthropology in its curriculum. I also have many years of tutoring experience, at all age ranges from elementary to college level, so I will be able to properly communicate and engage my students with the subject material.
I have guided several students through the college application process, most recent of which is a current sophomore at UC Berkeley. I have a thorough understanding of the college application process, including essays, placement tests, and understanding how to find the best fit. I also have experience with the Common App, so I know how to use that application while also tailoring the supplements to individual school needs.
I have several years of tutoring experience, including at the elementary level. My past elementary experience has included reading and literacy skills, math, and chemistry, although I am also well versed in other subjects. I also have training in teaching English as a Second Language from UT Austin. I am able to connect with students and engage them with subjects to make learning fun, which is the most important quality at this level.
I have a Business Administration degree from the University of Southern California, which includes a marketing concentration. In addition, I have worked as a marketing intern in several Los Angeles-based companies, including on brand development and social media strategy. I know the basics of marketing and how to translate those into real world experience. I believe that my strong practical knowledge of marketing coupled with my academic understanding of ideas such as the 4 P's (Product, Placement, Price, Promotion) will make me the ideal tutor for students interested in this subject.
I have several years of tutoring experience, including teaching English literacy and speaking skills through phonetic awareness. I have worked with students of all age ranges and abilities (including students with learning disabilities and ESL students), so I will be able to translate my past experiences into being a great tutor for phonics and English comprehension.
I have previously studied sociology and socio-cultural anthropology as part of my Neuroscience certificate and diversity studies at the University of Southern California. I am well-versed in the fundamentals of this subject and have several years of tutoring experience, which will make me an engaging and informative tutor.
