Luke is an English language specialist and focuses his students on both formal usage and mechanics, as well as style and individual voice.

Public Speaking

Luke has been an actor nearly his whole life and also spent many years as a workshop leader for non-profit organizations. His unique approach to public speaking focuses on developing proper breathing, confidence, diction and articulation, and strategies for effectiveness.

From experience, he believes that the most important element in effective public speaking is familiarity with content. In his one-on-one sessions, Luke will show you an easy process for quickly developing your skill as a public speaker, by grounding you in your material and providing techniques for combatting stage fright and other hindrances.

Luke is an award-winning writer and specializes in developing an elegance in his students' argumentative writing. His approach to writing is simple: a solid structure and organization for the writing supports the flow and style used to portray the argument.

He is also has an extensive background in poetry, creative writing, and exposition. In these areas, Luke focuses on developing the distinctive voice of the writer. Luke believes this is best achieved by writing outside of our comfort zone and what is familiar, and he challenges his students to take risks with their writing in order to hone their craft.
