Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ESL/ESOL

English is a source of great joy to me. Communicating naturally and easily in English requires practice and I know for me that the best way to improve a foreign language is to have lessons from a native speaker. English is a challenging language with a lot to offer: Literature, poetry, songs and a level of comfort with this international language.

I've taught English as a Second Language to College students and High School Juniors and Seniors in additional to Career people who asked for help communicating in Business and/or passing the TOEFL test.

Helping people succeed is both interesting to me and a satisfying career. I plan to go to school for a Masters in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) within the next few years. I am a believer in lifelong learning; noone is ever too old or too young to learn.

My favorite clients have been anywhere from 16 to 62 years old - This is the range I would love to work with.

Thank you.
