My love of teaching stems from my life-long love of learning. Despite my own struggles with ADD throughout my life, I was a successful college student, both at the undergraduate and graduate level. Working through my own issues has afforded me the chance to empathize and to find fun, creative ways for others to overcome their own struggles.

During my University level teaching experience, I enjoyed helping students find ways to improve their writing and reading skills which, I found, empowered them to be more confident in their own abilities. I specialize in the Arts and Humanities, and especially enjoy teaching history, social studies, English, writing, and Latin.

After earning a degree in Music (Voice), I graduated cum laude with Phi Beta Kappa from UC Irvine with a BA in the Classics. I achieved PhD candidacy in Anthropology as well as a Master's Degree. I look forward to helping you unlock your own potential.

Classics

I have a BA in Classics from UC Irvine.

Medical Coding

I have 10 years of physician coding experience and hold four different credentials in coding. I hold the CCS from AHIMA and the CPC from AAPC. I have specialties in Evaluation and Management coding (CEMC) and professional auditing (CPMA). I am also an AHIMA-approved ICD-10 trainer.

Music History

I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Cal State Long Beach. During this time, I took four semesters of music history, and wrote numerous papers for these courses. I also took four years of music theory, which, at the upper-division level, involved analyzing past compositions and composers, from medieval music to 20th century works.

Very Helpful — Kim was very helpful for my son. He had a writing project and she made sure to discuss the roots of some of the words so that he could more easily be descriptive. My son liked her very much and he looks forward to working with her again. GREAT tutor!! ...
