I am a California credentialed Teacher born in Padova, a university city in Northern Italy and have been living in San Diego for the past 23 years. I started teaching Italian
to my fellow students just for fun when I was in college working through my Bachelor's degree at a New York State University. During that time I so much enjoyed teaching my native language
and the culture of my country that I started attending Second Language Acquisitions Seminars, Linguistic classes and ended up in enrolling in the Teaching Credentials program at San Diego State University.
After obtaining my teaching credential, I taught at S.D.S.U., I taught classes for adults and children at the Italian Cultural Center in Little Italy, and worked for the San Diego School District where I implemented and taught an Italian program at Grant Elementary School. At the I.C
.C., I implemented a successful course for advanced adult students titled “Conversation on Art
The Italian for Travelers classes that I also teach are very popular and fun; these classes are specifically directed to those students who will be visiting Italy and need to know enough conversational Italian to get around!
In all my classes I use a variety of teaching methods in order to reach every student. I apply an interactive learning method where students dive into the Italian language from the first class. My students say that my classes are fun, entertaining, and effective. I would say that my best quality is patience with students of any age or learning ability.
I am a proud recipient of the scholarship “The Art of teaching Italian through Italian Art," a summer seminar at an institute in Rome, sponsored by the N.E.H. (National Endowment for the Humanities).
I look forward to hearing from you!
