I have worked for nearly 30 years as an award-winning illustrator and did a great deal of that illustration with Photoshop, using a Wacom tablet. I have a special ability for creating art and correcting the toughest photo damage.
I taught beginning and intermediate Photoshop at Palomar and Southwestern Community Colleges for 3 years in the San Diego area. But what really matters is my experience, since I created hundreds of files for educational computer based software using mainly Photoshop. Also, I come at the program as an artist, NOT a computer/science person, so I won't overwhelm anyone with technical talk.
I'm a patient and good teacher, and can help you get a strong grasp of this amazing Adobe program.
I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in private practice since 2008. Since setting up my practice, I have created a web site, set up advertising, created forms and spreadsheets to manage my business, created a filing system, etc. These are all the things NOT taught in your Master's program - or not in mine anyway! It would be a major pain to learn all this from scratch, and I would be very helpful in tutoring you through it. Also, I specialize in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and completed the 2 year course at the San Diego Psychoanalytic Society and Institute.
Regarding basic Mac skills, I have created my own websites for years and worked intensively creating art for various projects.
I don't recall when I got my first Mac, but was already working professionally with Macs in 1995 for Glencoe-McGraw Hill publishers. I've been upgrading the hardware and OS ever since, and currently own a iMac and MacBook. With the iMac (and previous machines) I have worked for about 18 years professionally as an Illustrator in several Adobe programs including Photoshop and Illustrator. I also use my MacBook for my current business and use Numbers now for 3 years to track my clients in an elaborate table I update throughout the year, and change every year. I also use templates supplied by Apple's Office iWork suit for resumes, letterhead, invoices, etc. In my professional work, I've created, saved, and managed hundreds of files. I also use Macs for internet daily, music storage, and have digitized my cassette tape collection. I'm very into Macintosh.
Since 3rd grade, I've been seen as an "artist" in the making, and worked professionally for 27 years as an illustrator, muralist, fine artist, in a number of mediums, including: acrylic, oil, water color, and "paint" with Photoshop. I started off painting portraits as a teen, got my BA in Fine Art from George Washington University, and continued in art full time for 15 as an illustrator.
