My name is Elizabeth C., and I am an undergraduate student studying Molecular Biology at UC San Diego. I graduated from high school with a weighted 4.1 average, and I received a 2300 on the SAT. I received a 229 on the PSAT, and I am a National Merit Finalist. I am confident in my abilities to tutor other students in subjects they are struggling in such as math, science, English, and language.
I have experience in explaining different concepts to my peers and leading discussions on various topics. I believe that it is the tutor's job to pinpoint exactly what the student's weaknesses are and mending those gaps. Having been tutored and having tutored other people has given me insight on what a good tutor is like and what a bad tutor is like. With these experiences, I am able to help students in figuring out what they need most out of our lessons and how to deliver instruction effectively.

I can converse well in Chinese, and have learned to read and write as well. I was taught in Traditional Chinese, so that is what I know how to read and write, not Simplified Chinese.
I have volunteered at an after-school daycare/program that takes care of children from kindergarten through fifth grade.
