I am a Fellow in the San Diego Area Writing Project at the University of California, San Diego. In the project, I gained knowledge in writing research and the latest methods of teaching writing. My area of expertise is teaching writing/reading and developing writing programs for students of all ages. I teach writing as a process which enables students to dramatically improve their skills. There are many Study Skills I incorporate when tutoring my students in Reading. Some of these strategies include reading comprehension skills, metacognition, reflective writing, main idea/theme selecting and vocabulary.
I have worked with many students on the concept of time-management and timelines. I help them with timelines for completion of assignments, completion of reading textbooks/books and research material. I also help them in organizational skills involving their class materials such as notebooks and files.
