If you're ready to take your learning to the next level, and develop skills to see the process of acquiring knowledge as one of continuous discovery rather than a dull, routine task of memorization, let's get to work!

I'm a bright, enthusiastic, easy going professor and corporate economist with a BS and MS from the University of Illinois-Urbana, and an MA and PhD from Ohio State. I have over 10 years of experience in teaching at the high school, undergraduate, and graduate levels. I have advised students about career paths, job options and choices, and have helped them secure funding through scholarships, fellowships, and assistantships.

I have outstanding student evaluations, which highlight my ability to take "dull" or "dry" subjects and transform them into exciting "real world" and "how does it affect me?" material. I'm ready to help you better appreciate how economics, math, statistics and geography can give you new insights into the world around us, and help us solve the economic, social, environmental, geopolitical and business challenges that we face.

I also have 20 years of international experience in Latin America, Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Europe. Students at the both the high school university level are all welcome. I'm also fluent in Spanish.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Public Speaking

I have verbally presented professional materials in a variety of settings, including one-on-one briefings with CEO/CIO/CFOs. I have also presented at major international conferences, using advanced multi-media methods. Finally, I was a professor at Texas A&M University and Pepperdine University, where I taught highly effective classes to a wide range of audiences, from large, introductory economics classes (200+ students) to small (10 student) Ph.D. seminars. I have also given television and radio interviews.

Social Studies

I have taught introductory and advanced courses in geography (economic, social, cultural), history and political science at major universities (Texas A&M, Illinois State, Pepperdine), and have received excellent student evaluations. I am also bilingual (English/Spanish), and can present material in either language.
