Greetings,

I am confident that, if given the opportunity, I could be a valuable asset to improving your child's skill and interest in visual art. I have a flexible schedule and am truly passionate about enriching children's lives through art and teaching. I am now also doing my student teaching as an art teacher at an Elementary School.

Currently I am an art teacher though my own mobile art program where I bring art lessons to people's homes and have also worked with Young at Art Children's Creative Center in San Diego. It is a non-profit organization for children of all ages to experience art through as many stimulating activities as they can, while encouraging learning through a stable, creative, and healthy environment. I have also worked with the Rainforest Art Project in San Diego helping to install tile mosaic projects in elementary schools and assisting with art classes.

My passion for the arts and teaching is never-ending. I am nurturing, patient, and work well within a team, small group, or 1-on-1 environment. If you should require any additional information please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Rosie

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Drawing

The course will start off with the Elements of Art and Composition designed to involve the student in the creative process while developing observational skills. The Elements of Art will include Space, Line, Texture, Shape, Form, Value, and Line in three dimensions. Introducing Composition using Balance and perspective, they will learn to be able to open their eyes to creating their own drawings within a format. We will learn to observe the world around us, what to really look for, and focus on one element of art at a time. We will go for it with enthusiasm and understand that our drawing skills take time and practice to develop and hone.

Painting

I am doing my student teaching as an art teacher at an Elementary School. In this course we will go over the basic elements of art and painting. For example, we will become familiar with how to use lines, shape, texture, color, mood, and so forth to compose a painting.
We will also learn techniques about color mixing, how to use different types of brushes correctly, and where we start when forming an idea to progressing throughout our piece.
