Hello! My name is Noah, and I am a freelance artist building video games in the San Diego area. I have a degree in BS media arts & animation as well as a BS in mathematics. I received my BS in Mathematics in 2003 in Washington DC from American University then worked in the insurance industry as an actuary and as a management intern for four years, then I left school to pursue a degree in art at the Art Institute of San Diego. While in school, I tutored mathematics and computer science (programming). After school, I moved to the Bay Area and worked for several startup game companies as a production artist and technical artist for 2D games.
With regards to my teaching style, I am a responsive teacher. I have a vast amount of experience in mathematics and art, so if you have particularly questions, a particular subject area, or a general direction you want to go with a project, I will be happily able to assist you with that. I am dedicated to making sure my students understand and have no problem going through multiple examples and following different paths to making sure you, as a student, understand. I am currently tutoring students outside of this site in college algebra and Calculus 1.
I have a generally flexible schedule, I am very outgoing and easy to work with. Hopefully, I can be of help to you in your mathematic/artistic pursuits!
I am trained in both website development and animation in Adobe Flash. A small example of my work, both in Flash and other programs. I built this website, and I also have a collection of animations and Flash designs that will be posted in the coming weeks.
I worked heavily in Illustrator for 3 years during my Media Arts & Animation degree at the Art Institute, and then used the software extensively during 2 years working for startup game companies in the Bay Area. I also use Illustrator frequently on my own work creating computer games and building vector artwork to later be used for animations.
I worked heavily in Photoshop for 3 years during my Media Arts & Animation degree at the Art Institute, and then used the software extensively during 2 years working for startup game companies in the Bay Area. I also use Photoshop frequently on my own work creating computer games.
I have worked at help desks for Dell computers and multiple university computer labs. I have worked on both Mac and PC hardware and software through recent jobs.
