I am passionate about learning and discovering the world around us, and wish to help others discover that passion too. I strongly believe that we can all improve in any subject if we put an effort and with some external help. Thus, I am here to help students who are wiling and open to learn.
As for my education, I have received double major in Molecular Biology and Physiology (Belgrade University), and then PhD in Human Genetics and Cell Biology (University of Pittsburgh. I am currently working as a post-doctoral fellow at the Buck Institute for Research on Aging in Novato.
I have extensive teaching and tutoring experience with students and professional of varying age. I have worked as a volunteer in Novato Youth Center as a tutor for K-12 students helping with math, English, and science; as a graduate student I was working as a teaching assistant for undergraduate, graduate, and medical school classes; as a scientist I teach specialized courses in biology for master, PhD, and post-doctoral professionals.
My approach is simple: I am there to guide students and help them understand the subject, help them solve the problems on their own (i.e. I will not do homework or just tell the answers to student), I will explain a topic, and ask student to complete practice in which they have to implement what they learned.
