Patricia teaches piano to my 7 1/2 old son who is quirky and unusual, to say the least, due to being highly-gifted and homeschooled. He can be quite a challenge for teachers, especially when they are not acquainted well, and I also have a hard time finding teachers who can offer us what we're looking for.
I was looking for a piano teacher who not only understands music and has good skills, but LIVES music AND art with profound depth and sensitivity. Patricia turned out to be one such person, coming from a lineage of musicians and surrounded with talented family. I have yet to hear her play the piano, but her gentle yet thorough approach to assessing my son's musical background gave me a glimpse of her strong root in music and the instrument. Her impressive paintings on the walls also revealed her artistic side to me.
Patricia's abundant teaching experiences in various environments is also a great asset. She seems to be very good with children and able to embrace my son's quirkiness in an intelligent way.
Overall, I'm very satisfied with her. I am hopeful and excited for what we can achieve in my son's musical ability.

I enjoy learning English with Patricia M. She motivates me to learn, and is strict enough to correct any mistake I have made during my conversations with her. The first day we met, she began to set up and show me where my strong and weak points were. Once she established that, the actual learning began. She helps pinpoint the formation of the mouth, tongue, and teeth so that each word can come out right. I have learned a lot from her. As a matter of fact, I have already seen the improvements in my English diction and articulation already. I would recommend her to anyone who needs help in their English language.

My son was born in Japan and goes to a Japanese school in South bay.
I plan to let him go to a local school in Palos Verdes district.
In the current school, he takes ESL class every day but it is not enough to catch up the local school.
So before sending him there, I let him study, talk and sing (National Antham) with Patricia.
It worked very well! He improved phonics and writing skills.
My son is shy and does not chat with strangers even in his mother language. But in the case with Patricia, he starts talking and singing cheerfully. She is not only a good teacher but also good singer.

Before I took lessons with Mrs. M I was a very shy singer, but thanks to her help and guidance I was able to increase the range, and intonation of my voice to a higher degree. I am now a more confident singer and I look forward to the next time I take lessons from her.
