I am an engineer in heart and mind. I enjoy figuring out how things work and how to make things as efficient as possible. I am good at explaining complex concepts in simple terms and I have found this to be very important for younger students in science. In my freshman year in high school, as a project for my physics class, I gave a lecture and demonstration on electricity and electric fields. Every year since, I have been asked to return and give the lecture to the new students. I find teaching science to be extremely enjoyable. I love seeing that "aha!" moment on someone's face when something they have been trying to figure out clicks in their mind. In my opinion, that is one of the best things about tutoring.
I am a Sophomore at the College of San Mateo doing a double major. My first major is Chemical Engineering and my second is Material Science Engineering. I am planning to transfer to UC Berkeley starting Fall 2013. I went to high school at Scotts Valley High where I founded the SVHS Math Club. As a club we competed in multiple national mathematics competitions and even in our first year we placed very high nationally. I enjoy sports and played soccer competitively from when I was 6 through my senior year in high school.
